| so my lovely, caring, "good" influential and masterful boyfriend asked me to call him back in approx. 20 minutes. i'm thinking about it. but after we hung up the phone, i took a little stroll. a small stroll around this small town called Neodesha. Now, i looked at this word as every other ameican would... i glimpse, tilt my head to the side and start to sound out the word (just as we all learned in those kindergarten classes which bestowed us with skills and knowledge for life) so i sound out the word and come out with neodesha...WRONG! apparently there is an unwritten kansas dictionary that every home grown kansinian knows. At first, your head is tweeked at this idea, but it grows on you, but i purposely correctly pronounce these words. Neodesh, would actually be said Neo DUH SHAY, and things like CREEK would actually be CRICK. so all through my nice walk i was thinking about the little town and the little town people. I was getting glimpses and that "you aint from here darlin'" feeling. but i kept walking, it was a nice day too...did i mention? all sunny....well, i also noticed i was wearing pink...and everyone else....plaid. so anyways, i'm sitting here at the computer typing randomosities about my "lack of words" day, that mainly consisted of my playing phone tag by myself to call people, and talking to chris. its simple...its cute, theres cable and no out houses. a tad bit more simple too, and i wonder, is this somehting we should have experience at one point in our lives. of course theres that marvilious dream of owning your own 9000sq ft. house on a hilltop, with french doors, and a mirror above your bed but what if a small dosage of simple life did you in for some good. sure i haven't gotten up at 4:30 to collect eggs or feed the cows, but its just what you need to get by. we're talking the generic cereals....and all. it isn't a life altering experience like "that one time at band camp" but i have no idea what i am talking about. but i do know that if my english teacher was reading this, i'd be moritifed. but think of me....as a pickle. you know a KRAFT dill pickle...and where i am right now...as a wal mart brand pickle...both still pickles, but they taste completely different, different textures and all, but still a pickle and not too shabby. UM.... damn call me back already! no wait, dont call me... i'll call when i can. |
